Summer Camp Counselors
We are seeking gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors to serve as Summer Camp Counselors. Flint Hill Farm Educational Center offers children from the Greater Lehigh Area the opportunity to have a hands-on on-the-farm summer experience. If you'd like to make a difference in the lives of children (ages 2-3, 4-6, or 7-13), consider becoming a counselor.
Basic Requirements:

Must be a junior or senior in high school -17 or older

Must have reliable transportation to and from the farm

Must have a working cell phone - in case of emergency

Must be able to provide two reachable character references

Must complete Pennsylvania Child Abuse screen and clearances

Must enjoy working with children ages 4-13 years old (age group preferences available)

Must be available from mid-June through August (have summer vacation planned before June 19th or after August 11th)

Must complete PA CareerLink application if living in Lehigh or Northampton Counties to qualify for summer employment compensation

EXPANDED SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS
Look for the themes that interest your camper! We saw great interest last year in our Colonial America theme and are repeating it this year. Weaving and other crafts are new to our program. Please look at the expanded scope and sign up your special camper today!
Slots are limited to 12 campers for each session.

Special Pricing for 4 or more weeks for same child. 10% discount for second child from same family. Campers must be 7 yrs or older. Special pricing if you register before April 1, 2023. Tell your friends! $25.00 Shopping Coupon at the Farm Store for referral who signs up. Must notify staff at time of sign up to receive Shopping Credit.

Farm Animals - how they live and what they eat. Parents are encouraged to pack healthy snack. Your child will engage in one unique craft daily.
Session 2: July 10-14
Woodland Animals - where do they live and what they eat. Parents are encouraged to pack healthy snack. Your child will engage in one craft daily.
Session 3: Aug 14-18
Gardens, Flowers, pollinators - Special morning with Beekeeper Eric! Planting, watering, and sharing the yummy produce from our vegetable and herb gardens. Parents are encouraged to pack healthy snack. Your child will engage in one craft daily.
Kinder Camp
Ages 4-6

As the goal of our camp is to teach children in a safe environment, we reserve the right to cancel summer camp for any child who is unable to follow safety rules.

Children should wear appropriate attire for exploring the farm. Additional outfit should also be provided. Suggested attire of shorts, sneakers, and rain slickers.

Chickens, Goats, Horses, Cows! All live on the farm. Visiting the barns & pastures to better appreciate the "home" of each animal.
July 3-July 7
NEW Afternoon hours 1-3pm for the campers and moms who need the morning to get ready. Focus on Fun on the farm with time with the farm animals, a snack time, story time and daily craft.
July 10-14
What grows in the garden? Taste, smell, feel yummy garden goodies. How to plants grow? Fun in the garden and greenhouse!
July 31-Aug 4
Who lives in the Woods???
Friday is Family Day
Parents are invited to come on Friday and join the group, share the adventure and treats to close the very special week.
Horse Lovers Camp
Ages 7-13

No experience necessary, young people enjoy hours of fun & recreation learning new skills and making new friends.

Horse camp offers 4 hours of riding and horse related activities in the AM, crafts and horse related programs in the PM.

A special Horse Show is open for families on Friday show off new skills and new friends.

Children should wear appropriate attire for riding, long pants, and shoes with heels. Riding helmets are required and can be rented for $2.00 per day. Please notify need on your application.

Horse Lovers Camp - Show Horse on Friday! Remember to invite your family. Meet the Farrier with Mr. Graham Wilkerson - horse shoeing education and demonstration
Aug 7-11
Horse Lovers Camp - horse handling skills. Special focus on skills for your own horse or continuing with riding lessons. Riding on Ben our Draft horse Big Ben, care of saddles and bridles, basic horse health.
Farm Camp

This involves our camper with all aspects of the summer season on the farm.

Time is divided between gardening, animal care and handling and forestry projects. Each group is unique, creating their own area of focus for the week.

Farm Camp - Explore the world of farming in and around 1930's. Projects: making a water cistern, work the garden plot, make jam from seasonal fruit. Enjoy the animals, plants, and woods of June. Dress for the weather!!

Farm Camp - Gardening and carpentry

Farm Camp - Camping skills, butter making, colonial Johnny Cakes baking - make our brick bake oven
July 31- Aug 4
Forestry - Visit with Paul Herwig of R&B Tree service on tree identification. Foraging skills in woodlot and garden for non-traditional food sources
Full Day Campers
Farming Experience
The farm week will introduce campers to the source of their food, good soil practices, composting, earth worms and local pollinators. The expanded “Woods and Pasture walk” developed in collaboration with the PA Department of Forestry will introduce campers to the area’s rich natural resources. Since the farm is also a Registered a Certified Raw Milk Goat Dairy, the campers will be involved with the daily feeding and care of our dairy herd. Each day has a different theme: Horses and their care, Goats/Cows-Dairy and Cheesemaking, Garden and woods, Chickens-housing, feeding and care/eggs. Friday is Parents Day. Put the time aside to come and see what your campers learned! 6 calves due between July and August!
Requirements for Full Day Camps:
Long pants in the AM. All campers may bring a change of clothing for afternoon games and crafts, such as shorts and sneakers. All campers should have sunscreen and bug repellent, as well as a rain slicker for inclement weather.
Whether your camper has chosen the farm’s horseback riding or farming experience, your child will never forget their time here at Flint Hill Farm Summer Camp. We are located on 27 acres on the top of Flint Hill in beautiful Lehigh County.
